A reimagined Bon Ton Café in Orleans Parish will re-emerge and see an overhaul of brand new kitchen equipment, built-in seating, upgraded finishes, and also feature a new bar. The building it resides in, located at 401 Magazine St., will receive a new sprinkler system, fire alarm, life safety upgrades, and a refurbished elevator to serve all three floors. Work performed on the second and third floor will be remain unoccupied and act in an ancillary capacity to the restaurant below. The constructions value is at approximately $2.6 million and Ryan Gootee General Contractors is performing the work. According to reports, a fire broke out in September 2023 right before the restaurant was set to reopen.
At 1746 Prytania St., an existing historic principal bed and breakfast structure will receive updates to the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems throughout, as well as flooring, exterior cladding, interior finishes, and site work. The overhaul costs over $1 million. Mike Bertel is the general contractor performing the work.
In Jefferson parish, Riverdale High School is set to receive nearly $3 million in commercial renovations performed by Industrial and Mechanical Contractors. The Barnes and Nobles located at 3721 Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie has plans for $1.3 million in renovations, which will be performed by C&K Paving Contractors Inc.
